iodatalabs' James was invited to help with the British Council's progressive Culture Shift programme- to be a mentor for the first ever event in Zimbabwe.
Culture Shift runs across a number of developing economies, bringing local technologists together with local arts professionals, in order to help foster projects, relationships and enduring methods of thinking.
James joined for the main two day hack event, held in the capital Harare. Six teams worked to build their ideas in order to attract prizes in the judging round. James made presentations on how to hack, building an idea (leanly) and design patterns in startup websites. The mentorship involved discussion and development with each of the teams.
The event, by all accounts, was incredibly successful- some brilliant teams produced excellent project ideas- these people have a promising future.
